International jewelry thief nabbed in Atlanta

ATLANTA --  A renowned 85-year-old international jewelry thief was arrested last week in Atlanta.

Last Friday, a loss prevention officer at Saks Fifth Avenue at Phipps Plaza reported observing 85-year-old Doris Payne lifting a pair of $690 earrings from a shelf and placing them in her pocket. She then quickly exited the store towards the entry to the Phipps Plaza shopping mall, according to the police report.

Payne was arrested inside the mall and the stolen earrings were recovered from her pocket, authorities say.

Employees file lawsuit against restaurant group after mass closures


ATLANTA -- More than seventy employees of restaurants including Noche, Smash, and Prime have filed a federal lawsuit against the Here To Serve Restaurant Group after their sudden closure Tuesday.

Popular Atlanta restaurant group closes with little notice


ATLANTA -- Ten popular Atlanta restaurants will not open for business Tuesday after the ownership group closed to reorganize. 

Here to Serve Restaurants runs Prime, Strip, Noche, Twist, Smash Kitchen, Coast Seafood, and Shucks Oyster and Wine Bar. The company's website now carries a message saying, "We apologize for the inconvenience, we are working on reorganization. Hopefully, we will be here to serve you again soon!"

Employees of several of the restaurants told 11Alive News no one has passed along any official information. They've heard about the closings through word of mouth or when they showed up to work and found chains on the door.

Arrest made in fatal Buckhead shooting

ATLANTA (WXIA) -- An overnight shooting in Buckhead between co-workers left one man dead and the second one behind bars.

The victim was shot multiple times, but what was most surprising for others who work in the building was that the shooting involved two men who are paid to help keep them safe.
