ATLANTA -- Police in Atlanta are investigating a possible home invasion involving suspects who posed as Georgia Power workers.

According to Kim Jones of the Atlanta Police Department, the incident happened Wednesday morning at an apartment complex. There were no injuries and police are gathering more details.

In response to the report, Georgia Power said they are working with police in the investigation. Georgia Power spokesperson John Kraft said that the company does not send employees in the field to collect payments and will not ask a customer to pay anywhere other than a business office or authorized payment location.

New security in place at Lenox Square, Phipps Plaza

ATLANTA -- After several high profile attacks and carjackings in Buckhead, the neighborhood's two busiest shopping centers are stepping up security. Lenox Square Mall and Phipps Plaza are connecting more than 235 security cameras directly to the Atlanta Police Department's monitoring system.

This development is about more than extra cameras on the scene. It's also about the technology behind them.

If you call 911 for help Atlanta Police will instantly see the four cameras nearest your location on a screen. They are able to watch in real time as an officer responds. The dispatcher will also have access to a replay of five minutes before you called. It's a resource to search for tag numbers, suspect descriptions and witnesses.
