A New Reality Show, Nail Files Whips into Atlanta with Mobile Nail Salon!

A New Reality Show, Nail Files Whips into Atlanta with Mobile Nail Salon!

How cool is it to have a mobile nail salon pull up in your company parking lot and you get a manicure? That sounds pretty neat huh? Well thats exactly what happened this afternoon at the Comcast call center in Alpharetta,Ga. There is a new reality series coming out June 21st called, Nail Files starring Katie Cazorla. She’s doing a mini tour to promote the show and her first stop was Atlanta. She said she loves it here plus it’s very clean lol.

I got to chat with this feisty but adorable bombshell at the mobile nail salon. She talked to me briefly about how she moved to Los Angeles and slept in her car.She didn’t have any friends there.

Atlanta fire department recalls more than 18,000 smoke alarms

ATLANTA -- The Atlanta Fire Department is recalling more than 18,000 counterfeit smoke alarms handed out from April 2006 through last summer.

The alarms were purchased from California-based company Silver Sails and distributed by the fire department as part of the Atlanta Smoke Alarm Program.

The problem is the holographic UL inspection sticker on the back, now confirmed by Underwriters Laboratories (UL) to be a fake. That means the alarms never went through any of the required safety inspections and might not actually work.

"We want to make sure that the public confidence in the ability of smoke alarms to alert them and save lives is not shaken by these counterfeit smoke alarms that we've received from a counterfeit manufacturer and a vendor that has a questionable past," said Atlanta Fire Chief Kelvin Cochran.

BUCKHEAD: Bar district looks to the future and past

ATLANTA -- There are several stories in the stagnant gulch in the heart of Buckhead.

There's the project formerly known as the Streets of Buckhead, stillborn from the real estate crash -- and its rebirth with its sale, last week, to another developer.

"The community is excited... because it was an eyesore and a disappointment," said Sam Massell, president of the Buckhead Coalition.

There's another story here -- about the often unhinged bar district that thrived in the same spot until the middle of the last decade. The construction gulch was the result of the wholesale destruction of the bar district in 2007, captured in photographs shot by a New Yorker named Paul Hagedorn.

"It was this sexy upbeat city. Like New York but, a southern New York," said Hagedorn.

Fulton County and Atlanta Award Security Contracts

Norred & Associates, Atlanta's largest locally-owned and operated security firm, has been awarded two substantial security contracts by Fulton County and the city of Atlanta that are expected to generate additional hiring in the metro Atlanta area, according to company officials.

Norred's contracts with Fulton County and the city of Atlanta are for one year each, with two one-year options.   Norred & Associates has hired and assigned 117 employees to the Fulton County contract. Approximately 150 security officers will be allocated to the city of Atlanta contract.   May 27 is the anticipated start date for the city contract.
