ATLANTA -- As part of The Galloway School Speaker Series, entrepreneur and philanthropist Ted Turner will join the Galloway community on Oct. 6 for an intimate conversation with students, faculty and parents. He will discuss one of the school’s founding pillars, fearlessness, and the role it has played in his life and work. Turner will also answer questions from Galloway students about a variety of topics, including the development of CNN and Turner Broadcasting and the establishment of the United Nations Foundation.

Throughout his career, Ted Turner has received recognition for his entrepreneurial acumen, sharp business skills, leadership qualities, and his unprecedented philanthropy. Whether in billboard advertisement, cable television, sports team ownership, sailing, environmental initiatives or philanthropy, Turner’s vision, determination, generosity and forthrightness have consistently given the world reason to take notice. Turner is co-chairman of the Nuclear Threat Initiative, a charitable organization working to reduce the global threats from nuclear, biological and chemical weapons; chairman of the Turner Foundation, Inc., which supports efforts for improving air and water quality, developing a sustainable energy future to protect the earth’s climate, safeguarding environmental health, maintaining wildlife habitat protection, and developing practices and policies to curb population growth rates; chairman of the United Nations Foundation, which promotes a more peaceful, prosperous and just world; and a partner in the Ted's Montana Grill restaurant chain, which operates 54 locations nationwide.

This event will be held in The Galloway School Gymnasium, which is located at 215 W. Wieuca Road from 10-11a.m.
