LOCAL PROFILE: Ain't Nothing Like the Real Thing | Arts & Culture

ATLANTA --- Where else will you find James Brown’s jumpsuit and cape, Louis Armstrong’s trumpet, Michael Jackson’s fedora and Sammie Davis Jr.’s tap shoes, in the same place, except at the Atlanta History Center? These items and many others will be on display as part of their “Ain’t Nothing like the Real Thing” travelling Apollo Theatre tour.

The exhibit is a travelling display that will be anchored at the Atlanta History Center starting October 8 and lasting until March 4. According to the Atlanta History Center, they are the only southeastern venue to host this traveling exhibition, which was organized by the Smithsonian Institution Traveling exhibition Service (SITES).

The Atlanta History Center is located at 130 West Paces Ferry Road in Atlanta.
