A Cappella Books to hold dinner, book signing for local author

ATLANTA -- A Cappella Books will host a tasty event for local author Marc Fitten this week.

Linton Hopkins, the award-winning chef at Buckhead's Restaurant Eugene, will prepare a special four-course dinner inspired by Fitten's latest book, Elza's Kitchen. The meal will be inspired by the luxurious foods and flavors of Hungary.

Fitten will attend the dinner to read from and sign copies of Elza's Kitchen, the second book in his Paprika Trilogy. The novel follows a successful chef and the happenings in her restaurant in post-Soviet Hungary.

The dinner and signing will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 7. A reception will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m. Admission is $110 and includes a copy of Elza's Kitchen.

M*A*S*H* star to perform in Atlanta

ATLANTA -- An Oscar-nominated actress and singer will visit Atlanta later this month.

Sally Kellerman is best known for playing Maj. Margaret J. "Hot Lips" Houlihan in the film adaptation of M*A*S*H* -- she was nominated for an Academy Award for the performance. She has appeared in more than 90 films and television shows, and has also lent her singing talent to several album recordings and cabaret shows.

Kellerman will perform one of those cabaret shows at Jerry Farber's Side Door in Buckhead on July 27 and 28.

"I couldn't be more excited that Sally has chosen to come to Atlanta and play at my club her first time here," Jerry Farber, owner of Jerry Farber's Side Door, said in a statement.

Rising Faith Productions in partnership with St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church is pleased to announce its first casting call for the major motion film project “Five Blocks Away.” On Saturday, July 21, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. open call auditions will be held at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church (St. Catherine’s) located at 1618 Ben King Road, in Kennesaw. This announcement was made by Kevis Antonio, parishioner of St. Catherine’s and the project’s writer, director and producer.
