Big Name Retailers Moving into Buckhead

ATLANTA -- Fashion and furniture are hitting two Buckhead malls.

Fashion retailers Forever21, Joe's Jeans, Pampolina, and Herve Leger by Max Azria will open in the next few months.

Ohio-based Arhaus Furniture plans to open the doors of its first Georgia store in fall 2011 at Phipps Plaza.

"Our primary focus is to bring to the market dynamic tenants that align with the demands of our shoppers," said Tisha Maley, assistant vice president of leasing for Simon Property Group Inc., which owns both Lenox Square and Phipps Plaza. "In recent years, we have seen continued growth - despite the challenging economy. Our shoppers are still embracing fashion and continue to look to Lenox Square and Phipps Plaza as the leading shopping destinations in Atlanta."

Forever21 will open a 27,000-square-foot store, its largest in Georgia, near Urban Outfitters in Lenox Square in winter 2011.

Frank Fenello Named to Lead UHY Advisors’ Southeastern Office in Atlanta

BBA focuses on Green Business for Monthly Luncheon

The Buckhead Business Association (BBA) will host a panel of Green Business experts at its Quarterly Luncheon on Thursday, October 21 at 103 West. The panel’s topic will be “Trends and Initiatives in Corporate Sustainability.” Jovita Moore, anchor at WSB-TV, will moderate the event, which is open to BBA members and guests. 

Panelists at the luncheon will be Todd Jarvis, President of Servidyne, Eric Taub, CEO of Verus Carbon Neutral, and Rachael Belew, Public Relations and Communications Manager of GREENGUARD Environmental Institute.

The Quarterly Luncheon, sponsored by 103 West and Fifth-Third Bank also features the BBA Public Safety Awards, honoring individuals with the Buckhead Police, Fire and Fulton County Sheriff's Departments who have been recommended by their superiors.

Place Your Bid On One of Buckhead's Most Exclusive Homes

The first Buckhead Tour of Homes, on October 10th, raised $7,500 in just four hours. Proceeds from this event will help provide year-round sports training and competition to 23,078 children and adults with intellectual disabilities.

This event showcased five of the affluent area’s most exclusive homes. More than 280 residents, traveling from as far as Douglasville and Macon, walked through homes including the “Pink Castle” on Pinestream Road near West Paces Ferry and a home reminiscent of The Sound of Music on Davis Drive near Northside Drive.

CEO of Grady Health Systems to Speak at BBA Weekly Breakfast

On Thursday, October 14, Michael Young, President and CEO of Grady Health Systems, will speak at the Buckhead Business Association’s (BBA) weekly breakfast and networking meeting. This event is held at the City Club of Buckhead and starts at 7:30 AM.

Michael A. Young brings more than 28 years of healthcare industry leadership to Grady Health System where he joined the health system as President/CEO on Sept. 2, 2008.

The weekly BBA breakfast meeting, which is held at the City Club of Buckhead, takes place every Thursday from 7:30 – 9:00 a.m. The City Club of Buckhead is located at 3343 Peachtree Road, Suite 1850.
