"On January 3rd, a white male masquerading as a Fire Marshall 'inspected' three restaurants in the Lenox Mall food court" -- Subway, Which Wich and Great Wraps, according to Sgt. Greg Lyon.

At each location, Lyon said the suspect demanded $300 for a fake inspection, which employees paid from their registers.

Buckhead bandit gets video close-up

ATLANTA -- Atlanta Police have posted video on YouTube of a robber targeting businesses in Buckhead, Midtown, and Brookhaven in hopes of getting a break in the case.

The suspect is described as 5 feet 8 inches or 5 feet 9 inches and in his mid to late thirties.

Atlanta Police say they've linked him to at least seven robberies, but believe the number could be as high as 10. Many of those crimes were caught on video surveillance.

In every robbery, the suspect approaches the cashier like he's going to buy something, but then shows a gun and demands the cashier put money in one of the store's plastic bags.

There are some small differences in each crime, and police say he changes his clothing between robberies.

According to police reports, during a Jan. 1 robbery of a CVS Pharmacy, he told the clerk "Come on, don't you know this is a robbery? Give me all that."

SPECIAL REPORT: Drug traffickers operating Sandy Springs rehab center

11Alive News has learned that two metro Atlanta men who recently pled guilty to federal drug trafficking charges have been operating a Sandy Springs facility for recovering addicts for several years.

In October, federal prosecutors announced the indictment of Drew T. Green, Thomas Malone Jr. and eight others for drug trafficking, money laundering and conspiracy, alleging they were operating one of the largest synthetic drug cartels in the country.

Federal prosecutors say Green and Malone's company Nutragenomics sold millions of dollars worth of chemicals used to manufacture so-called designer drugs like synthetic marijuana and bath salts.

"I've come to a point where I refuse to use the term synthetic marijuana. It gives these poisons too much credence," said Lance Dyer whose son Dakota committed suicide after smoking a synthetic marijuana product named "Mr. Miyagi."

 "These drugs are literally poisons."
