Bobby Deen to visit Barnes & Noble

ATLANTA -- Bobby Deen will appear at Barnes & Noble Buckhead next week to sign copies of his new cookbook.

The 43-year-old son of celebrity chef Paula Deen recently wrote Bobby Deen's Everyday Eats: 120 All-New Recipes, All Under 350 Calories, All Under 30 Minutes.

His cookbook is full of good-for-you soups, salads, main courses, sides and even desserts, all of which can be prepared quickly and on a budget. Bobby Deen's Everyday Eats also includes tips for saving money while stocking the pantry and watching calories while eating in restaurants.

Deen will talk and hold a signing on Thursday, Apr. 10 at 7 p.m.

Musical prodigy Ethan Bortnick coming to Buckhead Theatre

ATLANTA -- Ethan Bortnick, the youngest performer ever to headline his own concert tour, will bring his captivating new family music special to audiences around the country this spring on his 30-city tour.

Ethan will be at the Buckhead Theatre on Sunday, Apr. 13 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $36 and can be purchased at thebuckheadtheatre.com.

The young musical sensation, named one of Oprah’s “All Time Smartest, Most Talented Kids,” will be joined on the tour by special guest Damian McGinty of "Glee" and Celtic Thunder in a concert that highlights Ethan’s belief that music can truly connect people and ultimately change the world.

Ga. Connections Academy accepting students for 2014-15 school year

(WXIA) -- A few seats are still available at Georgia Connections Academy for the 2014-15 school year.

Georgia Connections Academy is a virtual K-12 public school that allows students to learn at their own pace. It is fully accredited and open to all school-age Georgia children.

"We are enrolling 1,000 additional students across all grade levels for the coming academic year," lead principal Heather Robinson said in a release. "We have a waiting list as we open enrollment, so we encourage parents to get their applications in now."

Georgia Connections Academy will hold a number of information sessions across the state for parents who want to know more. Additional enrollment information is available at connectionsacademy.com/georgia-virtual-school.

Devin Michaels hosts listening party

ATLANTA -- R&B singer Devin Michael will hold a listening party for the debut album L.O.V.E. (Letting Out Various Emotions). The EP was released Feb. 13.

The listening party will be at Nancy's Pizza Buckhead on Feb. 27 at 7:30 p.m., and will include a live remote broadcast for LaunchPad Radio Show with Ian Burke.

Elton John concert coming to local movie theaters

(WXIA) -- Elton John: The Million Dollar Piano, a live broadcast of the legendary singer's current residency show at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas, will come to several Atlanta-area movie theaters for two nights only.

The concerts will be shown at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Mar. 18 and Wednesday, Mar. 26.

In addition to concert footage, Elton John: The Million Dollar Piano features behind-the-scenes footage from the making of John's iconic 1973 album Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.

Part of the luxurious 580-foot skyscraper was elegantly transformed with authentic red and gold lanterns, ornate candles and other traditional Chinese decorations.

For the Chinese, this celebration is the most important of the year symbolizing the Earth’s new beginning. The Chinese culture utilizes a lunar calendar based on the moon’s cycle to create its zodiac signs and twelve animals to represent the 12 signs of the Chinese horoscope.

The spirit of the horse is recognized to be the Chinese people's ethos -- making constant efforts to improve themselves. It is energetic, bright, warm-hearted, intelligent and able.

ATLANTA -- Quinnes Parker Jr, author of "Ask My Dad He Can Help," will host Atlanta's first ever Karaoke For Kidz, held Thursday, Jan. 23 from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. at Nancy's Pizza in Buckhead.

The purpose of the event is collect items needed for #walk4edu in support of Holloway's Gift for Life (www.HGOL.org). Items desired include cases of bottled water, Gatorade, towels and sweatbands.

Quinnes is asking that the Atlanta community bring their children to have a good time with him and his family. He will also have copies of his book available for selected guests. Interested parties are suggested to RSVP at publicrelations@reinchild.com.
