Shop for a Cause and Support Local Charities

This year, Macy’s “Shop for a Cause” will be held on Saturday, October 16th. This annual event, now in its fifth year, will take place at all Macy’s stores and on macys.com.

Through Shop for a Cause, Macy’s provides participating organizations with shopping passes to sell for $5 each. Organizations keep 100% of every ticket sold.

The Men Stopping Violence Annual Awards Dinner at Buckhead Ritz-Carlton

The Men Stopping Violence Annual Awards Dinner recognizes individuals who have dedicated time and resources to fostering safety and justice for women.  The dinner is the primary annual fundraiser for Men Stopping Violence. Music and film star Tim McGraw will take the stage on Oct. 2, 2010, is slated to accept the True Ally Award at the 2010 Men Stopping Violence Annual Awards Dinner. 

2010 Atlanta’s Best Cellars Dinner to Support Winship Cancer Center

On Saturday, October 2nd, The Ritz-Carlton, Buckhead will be hosting a unique night of dining and wine-tasting to benefit cancer research at the Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University, recently designated a National Cancer Institute .

Greenberg Traurig and Upfront Megatainment will present an evening of gourmet cuisine, excellent company and exquisite wine at the second annual Atlanta’s Best Cellars Dinner.

LGBT Advisory Board to Meet Sept. 20th

The Atlanta Police Department’s newly re-formed Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual & Transgendered Advisory Board will meet Monday, September 20th at 10 a.m. at Saint Mark United Methodist Church (781 Peachtree Street, NE). This meeting is open to the public.
