Man enters elementary school, steals teacher's wallet
News

ATLANTA -- Atlanta police are looking for a man they believe entered an elementary school through a back door, walked into a teacher's classroom and stole her wallet.

The incident happened after hours at Sarah Smith Elementary, around 4:10 p.m., according to Atlanta police. They say the suspect walked through a "rear door that was unsecure that leads to the cafeteria." They say he then walked upstairs and into a classroom. The teacher returned and found her wallet missing; surveillance video confirmed he entered her classroom.

According to the APD narrative, police were later called to secure the back door.

Through surveillance video, officials were able to capture an image of the suspect. Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS (8477); tipsters could be eligible for a reward up to $2000.
