ATLANTA — A Georgia State Patrol trooper is recovering from minor injuries after his vehicle was T-boned by a suspected drunk driver in Buckhead.
It happened overnight near the intersection of Roswell Road and Piedmont Road just outside The Ivy Lounge.
According to authorities at the scene, the side of the GSP trooper's car was hit by a black sedan, which was pulling out of a parking lot and ignored a stop sign.
The driver told officers he thought he had a green light to proceed, and that's why he crashed. But investigators say there were no signal lights in the immediate area where the accident happened.
Troopers arrested the driver on scene and could be facing alcohol-related charges.
