Atlanta Police looking for sexual assault suspect

ATLANTA - Atlanta Police are looking for the public's help for information leading to a suspect they said sexually assaulted a 20 year-old woman in late December.

Investigators said that on December 20, a white male suspect in his 20s, driving a black Dodge Ram picked up a 20-year-old woman by offering her a ride to her hotel from the 2800 block of Peachtree Road. The suspect then drove the woman to an area away from the hotel before assaulting her. She was able to flee from the scene and notify police.

A reward of up to $2,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest of the suspect, who police said is wanted on charges of attempted sodomy.

A forensic sketch of the suspect was completed by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and released to the media.

Anyone who has any information about the suspect is asked to call Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-TIPS (404-577-8477). Persons do not have to give their name or any other identifying information to be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
