BEST SPOTS: Dog Parks | Pets
ATLANTA -- For this week's edition of Best Spots, we have compiled a list of dog parks for you to take you furry friend for some fun.
Recently, dog parks have been sprouting up in the Atlanta area. With newly modified leash law restrictions, owners who may or may not have yards need a place for their dogs to run free and get adequate daily exercise.
Some say, these parks are becoming more popular as the country begins placing more of an emphasis on health following the First Lady’s “Let’s Move” initiative.
Dog owners in the Atlanta area can take their furry children to the Henry Jones Dog Park in Brook Run Park for some off-leash exercise. This fully wooded park in Dunwoody is four acres large however; it doesn’t have a water fountain. Dogs can drink from a community water bucket which is provided by the park. The park is located at 4770 North Peachtree Road in Dunwoody.
Waggy World Paw Park in Alpharetta is a wooded dog park behind the Alpharetta Community Center at Willis Park. The park is open to the public and includes water fountains, park benches and two separate areas from large and small dogs.
Popular Piedmont Park is the largest dog park in Atlanta. The park is not fenced however it is an off-leash park. Piedmont Park attracts people from all over the metro area and there are an abundance of dogs, at the park, everyday. The park has running water and ample area to play with your furry partner. Piedmont Park is located at Tenth Street and Monroe Drive.
Be sure to take photos of you and your dog at the park, this weekend, and send them to email@example.com. Next week, the “Where U Live” team will compile a list of BEST SPOTS for Neighborhood Thrift Stores.
